It has been announced that 'Sideways' star Thomas Haden Church is to play the villain in the third 'Spider-Man' film.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the identity of Haden Church's character has not been revealed.
Commenting on his casting, 'Spider-Man' director Sam Raimi said: "Thomas Haden Church will be a fantastic and challenging new nemesis, and we all look forward to working with him."
The film will see Tobey Maguire return as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), with Kirsten Dunst expected to return as Mary Jane Watson.
Production is scheduled to begin early next year, with a May 2007 release scheduled.
