Pop singer Britney Spears has condemned Us Weekly magazine for publishing photos of her honeymoon.
She says she allowed staff at the resort in the Fiji Islands to take the photos after they were assured the pictures were for private use in a scrapbook the couple was given as a souvenir.
Spears says other magazines contacted them when presented with the photos and agreed not to publish them. Spears thanked them for respecting her privacy.
Us Weekly, however, refused to back down. In a statement the magazine said: "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy."
The statement suggests Spears is upset because she was not paid for the photos.
