'EastEnders' star Jake Maskall, who plays Danny Moon in the soap, has revealed he is gay.
His character has established himself as a ladies' man since arriving in Albert Square and is currently dating Sam Mitchell, played by Kim Medcalf.
But in real life Maskall has revealed he has a long-term boyfriend.
Speaking to Now magazine Maskall said: "I'm gay and I've been with my boyfriend for 12 years."
"It's not a secret. But my relationship's part of my private life and I hope everyone respects my privacy."
Maskall, whose character Danny arrived in Albert Square with his brother Jake (actor Joel Beckett) in December, said he had no problem stripping off for the show.
And he issued a word of warning for Walford's number one heart-throb, Dennis Rickman, played by Nigel Harman.
"I love bedroom scenes, and I'll happily give Nigel Harman a run for his money," he said.
