The members of pop band Busted have announced that they will be taking a temporary break from the group.

Singer Charlie Simpson has revealed that he wants to work with his new rock band Fightstar in the coming months.

The other two members of the pop group, Matt Jay and James Bourne, are also planning on taking a break from the band.

A spokesperson for Busted said: "Charlie is doing Fightstar at the moment. Busted will reconvene in due course."

Simpson recently said in an interview with Kerrang!: "Busted is not the ideal band I'd like to be in by any stretch of the imagination."

Busted came to fame in September 2002 when they released the single 'What I Go to School For'. They have since had hits with 'Crashed The Wedding' and 'You Said No'.
