Sheryl Crow is set to release two new albums in 2005.
Crow told US trade daily Billboard: "I want to put out an artist record first and then a pop record in the fall."
She defined an "artist record" as "just a really heartfelt, stripped-down, no-bells-and-whistles record that lyrically probably has heavier content than maybe a pop record does".
Crow said that she expected to hand both records over to her label Interscope by the end of January.
