The New York Film Critics Circle has named the Golden Globe-nominated 'Sideways' as its Best Picture of the Year.
The Hollywood Reporter says the critics named Clint Eastwood Best Director for 'Million Dollar Baby', with Paul Giamatti ('Sideways') and Imelda Staunton ('Vera Drake') taking the top acting honours.
The Best Supporting Actor and Actress awards went to Clive Owen for 'Closer' and Virginia Madsen for 'Sideways'.
Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11' was named Best Non-Fiction Film, with Pedro Almodovar's 'Bad Education' Best Foreign Language Film and 'The Incredibles' Best Animated Film.
Best First Film went to Joshua Marston for 'Maria Full of Grace', with 'Sideways' director Alexander Payne and collaborator Jim Taylor taking the honour for Best Screenplay.
