Newly crowned 'Strictly Come Dancing' winner Jill Halfpenny has landed the lead role in a London production of the hit musical 'Chicago'.
Actress Halfpenny, who plays Kate Mitchell in 'EastEnders', will take on the part of Roxie Hart in the musical, following the withdrawal of former 'Brookside' actress Jennifer Ellison from the production.
Halfpenny's agent Amanda Evans confirmed: "Jill is starting in Chicago as Roxie Hart in January and will be in the show for three months."
The actress and her professional dance partner Darren Bennet beat off competition from Denise Lewis and her partner to win the live final of the BBC reality show 'Strictly Come Dancing', staged at Blackpool Tower on Saturday night.
