'The OC' star Mischa Barton is in negotiations to join the cast of the big screen adaptation of Giovanni Boccaccio's literary classic 'The Decameron'.
The Hollywood Reporter says that if she signs up for the film Barton would play Pampinea, in the story of young Florentines who hide out in the countryside while a plague wreaks havoc in the city.
David Leland, whose previous directing credits include 'Band of Brothers' and 'The Land Girls', is adapting Boccaccio's story and will also helm the movie.
It is planned that the film will begin shooting next year in Florence and Rome.
