Hopkins set for All the King's Men

Anthony Hopkins, James Gandolfini and Patricia Clarkson are all in talks to join Sean Penn and Jude Law in the remake of the 1949 Oscar-winning film 'All the King's Men'.

Based on Robert Penn Warren's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, 'All the King's Men' tells the story of the rise and fall of Southern politician Willie Stark (Penn), as seen through the eyes of journalist Jack Burden (Law).

Variety reports that Hopkins is set to play Judge Irwin in the film, with Gandolfini set to star as Tiny Duffy, a member of Stark's entourage.

Clarkson is replacing Meryl Streep on the project in the role of Stark's aide, Sadie Burke.

'Gangs of New York' and 'Schindler's List' writer Steven Zaillian has penned the script and is also directing.
