The re-recording of the Band Aid hit 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' was aired for the first time on the UK's Radio Five Live this morning.

Bono, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Robbie Williams, Dido and Joss Stone are among the artists performing on the track. The original version featured George Michael, U2 and Boy George.

Nicky Campbell, who presents Radio Five Live, said the new recording has a much more melancholic feel than the original and is more soulful.

It's also a little longer than the older version, recorded 20 years ago.

Mercury Prize winner Dizzee Rascal raps near the end; the new version is slower and there are more women involved.

The song got a mixed reaction from listeners, some saying it was terrible and couldn't compare to the original, and some saying it moved them to tears.
