Martin Campbell, the director who brought the James Bond franchise back to life with 1995's 'GoldenEye' is in negotiations to helm the 21st 007 movie.

The Hollywood Reporter says that if Campbell comes on board, the film would be in cinemas sometime in 2006.

Campbell is currently working on the sequel to his 1998 film 'Legend of Zorro'.

Other directors who had been linked to the next Bond film included 'Wicker Park' director Paul McGuigan and 'Layer Cake' director Matthew Vaughn.
