David Beckham and his Real Madrid teammates Zinedine Zidane and Raul are to play themselves in the three instalments of 'Goal!', the $100m soccer movie trilogy.
Variety reports that the films star 'Y Tu Mamá También' actor Diego Luna as a player from East Los Angeles who signs for Newcastle United, with Real Madrid and the 2006 World Cup the backdrops for the second and third films.
'Goal!' marks Beckham's first starring role and he will be seen in all three movies.
The first film, directed by Danny Cannon ('CSI', 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'), will begin shooting in January.
