Joe Sterling show at Photography Gallery

An exhibition by photographer Joe Sterling entitled 'Acting Normal' will open at the Gallery of Photography in Dublin's Temple Bar from Friday 17 September.

'Acting Normal' is a body of work that Sterling started in 1995 after the break-up of his marriage.

It has since become a long-term study of his three children after they went to live in France with their mother.

In his artist's statement, Sterling says "Powerful stories of relocation and love are caught and held by the photographs and the memories they evoke."

He lectures in photography at Sallynoggin College of Further Education and has also been a guest lecturer at Newport College, Gwent, South Wales, where he obtained an Hons BA in Photography.

This is his first solo exhibition in Dublin and 'Acting Normal' will run from 17 September until 17 October.
