French president Jacques Chirac made Steven Spielberg a knight in the French Legion of Honour at a ceremony in Paris yesterday.
The president praised Spielberg's work and said that films like 'Schindler's List' ensured people did not forget about acts of heroism.
Accepting the award, Spielberg paid tribute to France's efforts to fight anti-Semitism.
The director is in France promoting his new film 'The Terminal'.
