'Goodfellas' star Ray Liotta is joining the cast of 'ER' for a special episode that will take place in real-time.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the episode will air on US television on 11 November.
The plot centres on an alcoholic former criminal (Liotta) who arrives in the ER suffering from withdrawal symptoms and hallucinations.
'ER' returns to RTÉ in the autumn as part of the new schedule.
