Orla O'Shea, a 20-year-old primary school teacher has been crowned the 46th Rose of Tralee.
O'Shea, who is due to take up her first position as primary teacher in Dublin next month, is the first Rose from Kilkenny.
Ryan Tubridy presented the competition for the second year and last night's television audience was up 20% on last year.
