The cast of the long-awaited big screen adaptation of the acclaimed book 'Memoirs of a Geisha' has been announced.
Ken Watanabe, Oscar-nominated for his role in 'The Last Samurai', will be joined by 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' star Michelle Yeoh, with 'Shall We Dance?' star Koji Yakusho, 'Raise the Red Lantern' star Gong Li and another 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' star, Zhang Ziyi, all in final negotiations about roles.
Production on the adaptation of Arthur Golden's best-selling novel will begin next month in Los Angeles and Japan.
The decades-spanning film is due for a 2005 release with 'Chicago' helmer Rob Marshall in the director's chair.
