Romance will be in the air on next season's 'ER' with a new love interest for hospital heartthrob Dr Carter (Noah Wyle).
Variety reports that Madchen Amick, best known for her recurring role in 'Twin Peaks', is joining the cast of the medical drama.
She will star in at least 10 episodes as a social worker who falls for Carter.
'ER' will return to RTÉ 1 this autumn.
