Weezer singer goes back to college

With Weezer currently finishing work on their fifth album, mainman Rivers Cuomo has announced that he is going back to Harvard University in the autumn.

Rolling Stone reports that Cuomo began studying at Harvard in the autumn of 1995 but left after the spring term in 1997 when the band's second album, 'Pinkerton', failed to sell and the singer decided to postpone his studies.

Cuomo is majoring in English Literature at Harvard and recently took a course in The History of Literary Criticism at the University of Southern California.

Weezer's new album is due out in late 2004 or early 2005 and features legendary producer Rick Rubin at the controls.
