Rapper Jay-Z is top of the list for this year's MTV Video Music Awards with six nominations for his '99 Problems' video.
Nominations for this year's event, which will take place in Miami on 29 August, were announced by the music channel yesterday.
Beyoncé, No Doubt, Usher and Outkast followed closely behind Jay-Z with five nominations apiece.
Other nominees include Britney Spears, Kanye West, Steriogram, The White Stripes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, each with four nominations, while Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, D12, Jet and Modest Mouse are all up for three awards.
The first performers to be confirmed for the event are Usher, Kanye West, Jessica Simpson, Hoobastank, Yellowcard and Jet.
This year's Miami show marks the first time that the VMAs have been staged outside New York or Los Angeles.
