ZZ Top guitarist Billy F Gibbons joined Queens of the Stone Age in the studio last week, where they are recording a new album.
Billboard reports that a posting on the band's website says that Gibbons "rolled into the studio ... at the stroke of midnight and left at 5 in the AM".
It is not known whether Gibbons' work with the band will appear on the new album, their first since the departure of bassist and vocalist Nick Oliveri.
Queens of the Stone Age mainman Josh Homme and bandmates Joey Castillo, Troy Van Leeuwen and Alain Johannes appear on the new album from the Mark Lanegan Band, 'Bubblegum'. It is released on 6 August.
