Prison sentence for Martha Stewart

US domestic icon and businesswoman Martha Stewart has been sentenced to five months in prison for charges of conspiracy and obstructing investigators.

The 62-year-old, and her former stockbroker, were convicted in March of three charges relating to insider trading.

Ms Stewart also received two years' probation and a $30,000 fine.

Speaking outside the courthouse in New York, Martha Stewart expressed regret for the hurt caused to her family and employees.
