'The X-Files' creator Chris Carter is to direct an adaptation of British novelist Philip Kerr's book 'A Philosophical Investigation', says the Hollywood Reporter.
'A Philosophical Investigation' is set in 21st Century London and tells the story of a woman police inspector on the trail of a serial killer.
Carter will adapt the story for the big screen with his 'X-Files' collaborator Frank Spotnitz.
During 'The X-Files' 10-year run, Carter directed numerous episodes of the show.
