It has emerged that David Bowie underwent emergency heart surgery for a blocked artery late last month.
The 57-year-old singer is said to be recovering at his New York home, but hopes to return to work in August.
His publicist said Bowie sought treatment in a German hospital after complaining of a pinched nerve during a European concert tour.
However, he had to undergo an operation for an acutely blocked artery and was able to leave the clinic earlier this week.
