Oscar-winning actor Kirk Douglas' youngest son has been found dead inside a New York apartment building.
Eric Douglas was discovered after someone flagged down a passing police car. Police say there were no signs of foul play but an autopsy is planned.
Douglas, who was also the half-brother of actor Michael Douglas, was an aspiring actor and appeared in such movies as 'Delta Force 3'. He also worked as a stand-up comedian.
The Douglas family is "very shocked and saddened" to learn of Eric Douglas' death, according to a family spokesman.
The 46-year-old battled drug and alcohol problems for years and had repeated clashes with the law. He also spent time behind bars and in rehabilitation clinics.
Douglas was found lying on the floor next to a sofa in the living room of the one-bedroom apartment in New York's East 29th Street, police said.
