Britney Spears has spoken about her surprise engagement to dancer-boyfriend Kevin Federline.
She revealed that she proposed to him during a trans-Atlantic flight from Ireland to New York after the European leg of her tour.
The pop singer (22) told People magazine that Federline (26) turned her down initially - but then he asked her to marry him and she said yes immediately.
"Marrying Kevin was the last thing I was thinking about doing," Spears added. "But then I said 'You know what? This is my life and I don't care what people think. I'm going to get married. I'm in love with him'."
Federline, who performed as a back-up dancer for Spears' former boyfriend Justin Timberlake, has a two-year-old daughter with 'Moesha' actress Shar Jackson. She is also expecting their second child.
Spears said that she plans to meet his daughter and that she also wants her own children. "I'm not pregnant but I definitely want to have some kids. I see myself with four or five."
