The teen actress Mary-Kate Olsen has checked into rehab for treatment for an eating disorder reported to be anorexia.
The 18-year-old, who co-stars with her twin sister Ashley in the film 'New York Minute', "entered a treatment facility to seek professional help for a health-related issue," according to her publicist.
Olsen's weight-loss has been the subject of much tabloid speculation recently.
The Olsens turned 18 on 13 June and assumed control of Dualstar Entertainment. They are each estimated to be worth US$150m.
They have been acting together since they were nine-months-old, most notably on the sitcom 'Full House' and in a series of direct-to-video movies.
They have also attached their names to a line of merchandise including clothing and beauty products.
'New York Minute' opens in Ireland on 30 July.
