Irish singer Brendan Shine, best known for his 1979 hit 'Do You Want Your Old Lobby Washed Down Sunshine', was banned from driving in the UK today after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
Shine, 57, was pulled over by the police at 2.15am on Friday 19 March as he drove back to his hotel in Wigan, Greater Manchester after performing at a charity event.
Banning him for driving for 12 months, magistrate Mary Griffin told him: "It was a short distance you drove. You have shown remorse and co-operated with the courts and the police during these proceedings."
Shine was also fined £600, and ordered to pay £70 costs by Wigan magistrates.
The driving ban does not cover Ireland.
