Pop punkers Green Day are set to release their new album, 'American Idiot', in the autumn.
Rolling Stone reports that the band recorded 35 songs for the album and are trying to have a unifying theme throughout the record.
It is almost four years since Green Day's last album, 'Warning'; two compilations, 'International Superhits!' and 'Shenanigans'; were released in 2001 and 2002.
They are also believed to be behind a mysterious synth pop album by a group called The Network, which was released last year.
