'Barking Mad', the short live action drama written, directed by and starring Irish actor Brendan Dempsey, has won a REMI award at the 37th Worldfest Houston Film Festival.
The film, which follows a day in the life of a hitman, was produced under a deal between Dublin's ApolloGallery.ie and Dempsey's production company Six Wentworth Thing.
The screenplay, Dempsey's first, was written while he was working on Martin Scorsese's 'Gangs of New York' in Rome.
Previous award winners at the Worldfest Houston Film Festival include Steven Spielberg and Oliver Stone.
