Kenneth Branagh is to star opposite Tom Cruise and Carrie-Anne Moss in the third instalment of the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise.
The Hollywood Reporter says that details on Branagh's character were not available but it is expected the actor will play one of the villains.
The script for 'M:I-3' has been written by 'The Shawshank Redemption' director Frank Darabont and 'Narc' helmer Joe Carnahan will direct.
The film is due to begin production in the late summer.
