Dafoe joins cast of von Trier film

Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Lars von Trier's new film 'Manderlay'.

'Manderlay' is the second instalment of von Trier's 'USA - Land of Opportunities' trilogy which started with the Nicole Kidman-starring 'Dogville'.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dafoe has been cast as the father of Grace (the character played by Kidman in 'Dogville') who will be played by Bryce Dallas Howard.

Set in the American South during the 1930s, 'Manderlay' is a story of slavery. Like 'Dogville', it will be shot entirely on a stage.

Dafoe will be part of a cast that includes Lauren Bacall, John C Reilly, Danny Glover and Chloe Sevigny.
