Mel Gibson has plans to follow up 'The Passion of the Christ' with a film about the origins of the Jewish Hanukkah holiday.

The festival of Hanukkah celebrates the Maccabees' victory against Greek king Antiochus IV in  165BC.

Gibson has been accused of anti-Semitism for his portrayal of Jews in 'The Passion of the Christ'.

Abraham Foxman, director of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League, told The Sunday Times "The last thing we need is Jewish history turned into a Western. In his hands we would probably lose."
