Waterford's Chris Doran will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul in May, after beating James Kilbane in the 'You're a Star' final.
Doran won the right to represent his country at the annual contest after edging out Kilbane in a public phone poll.
The Waterford man, who is a keen martial artist, will sing 'If the World Stops Turning' a song written by Westlife star Bryan McFadden and Jonathan Shorten.
The result was announced live on the 'You're A Star Results Show' on RTÉ One tonight.
Kevin Linehan, RTÉ's Music Commissioning Editor, said: "I am delighted that Ireland will go forward to the Eurovision in Turkey with such a strong song and a great performer."
