Johnny Depp is set to star in a new period drama called 'The Libertine'.
Variety reports that the film, set in the 17th Century, is based on the life of John Wilmot, the Earl of Rochester and is adapted by Stephen Jeffreys from his own play.
Depp will star opposite John Malkovich and Samantha Morton in the film, which marks the feature debut of ad director Laurence Dunmore.
Production is set to begin on 23 February outside London.
