The Frames and Bell X1 have been chosen by RTÉ 2fm as Irish representatives at music festival EuroSonic 2004 which takes place in Groningen this week.
In its ninth year, the EuroSonic festival is an annual showcase promoting upcoming talent to the media, the European live music industry and the public.
RTÉ 2fm has supported acts including David Kitt and JJ72 at previous EuroSonic events.
Other acts that have performed in the past include Iceland’s Apparat Organ Quartet, Holland’s Bettie Serveert, England’s The Libertines and Germany’s Schneider TM.
RTÉ 2fm will broadcast the live sets by both bands with Bell X1 at 11.15pm on Thursday 8 January and The Frames at 1am on Friday 9 January.
At 12 midnight on Thursday 8 January, 2fm will also broadcast John Peel’s programme from the festival.
