A mixed-media installation, inspired by the Formal Gardens at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), goes on show at the Museum on Tuesday 6 January.
'snáth nasc, de fil en aiguille' (thread to needle) is created by French-born artist Françoise Dupré entirely from knitting and stitching.
Dupré worked with individuals and groups from Dublin and Kilkenny during a residency as part of IMMA's Artists' Work Programme.
For three months she and the other participants met and worked together toward the realisation of a floor-based art work using French knitting, Irish stitches, four needle knitting and a wide range of white yarns.
'de fil en aiguille...' is part of 'Here and There', a series of artist-led cross-cultural projects initiated and developed by Dupré.
