The long awaited and much hyped final instalment of the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy is released today.
'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' has had premieres all over the world to publicise its release.
Producers are hoping the film's box office take will exceed the $1bn mark, this would make 'The Return of the King' the most successful film of the trilogy.
It is widely tipped to take the Best Picture award at next year's Oscars.
