Irish TV presenter Graham Norton has signed an exclusive deal with the BBC to develop Saturday night shows.
The two-and-a-half year deal begins in April 2004.
BBC One controller Lorraine Heggessey said she was convinced Norton would, "delight viewers of all ages at the heart of the Saturday night schedule."
Norton's Channel 4 chat show 'V Graham Norton' is being replaced by a new US-based weekly show from January; it will be on screens until April.
Earlier this year Norton inked a deal with US cable channel Comedy Central for a new show.
