Westlife have scooped the coveted Record of the Year title for the third time, picking up the award for their version of the Barry Mannilow classic 'Mandy'.

The boyband beat off competition from ten other finalists in a telephone and text vote on ITV on Saturday night.

In second place was Busted with 'Year 3000', followed by Daniel Bedingfield's single 'If You’re Not The One'.

Westlife said that they were "shocked and amazed" to win, as they had not been nominated for the last two years.

"To get first place was amazing. We were really shocked. We’re old fellas now, and we’ve come back and won The Record of the Year 2003. We know we’ve still got fans. People are still voting for us and it means a hell of a lot, it’s so emotional."
