Good Bye, Lenin! tops European Oscar nods

Germany's blockbuster hit 'Good Bye, Lenin!' will lead the field of the European Film Awards competition with five nominations.

Next on the list of nominations for the 16th annual awards, which are to be held this Saturday, are the British films 'Dirty Pretty Things' and 'Dogville', with four nominations a piece.

Forty-three European films from a total of 360 submitted for the awards which are presented by the European Film Academy are in the running for the prizes.

The European Film Academy is made up of 1,600 members from European film boards, subsidy agencies as well as industry professionals.

Other films nominated for the awards include 'In This World', 'Swimming Pool', 'Noi Albinoi', 'L'Homme Du Train', 'My Life Without Me', and 'The Mother'.
