'EastEnders' actress Jessie Wallace was today banned from driving for three years and fined £1,000 after admitting drink driving.
Wallace, who plays the character Kat Slater in the BBC soap, pleaded guilty when she appeared before magistrates in Southend, Essex.
Prosecutors alleged that Wallace, real name Karen Wallace, was one-and-a-half times over the drink-drive limit when police stopped her Mercedes car in March.
Wallace told the court she believed that she had drunk two glasses of wine when she was stopped by police and gave a positive breath test.
But she said she later learned that the two glasses of wine had been spiked with vodka.
