Michael Caine is to take the role of Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler, in the new 'Batman' film.
Caine will join Christian Bale, who has been cast as millionaire playboy Wayne by day and the crime-fighting Batman by night.
He replaces Michael Gough who played Alfred in the last four 'Batman' films.
The fifth 'Batman' has been written by David Goyer and will be directed by Christopher Nolan ('Memento', 'Insomnia').
