Glen Campbell arrested in Phoenix

Country singer Glen Campbell was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving, according to police in Phoenix, Arizona.

Campbell (67) is also being held on suspicion of hit and run and aggravated assault on a police officer.

He was arrested at his Phoenix home after a witness reported an incident in which he crashed into another car and left the scene.

According to Sgt Randy Force of the Phoenix police, the alleged aggravated assault took place when Campbell kneed a sergeant in the thigh as he was being processed at the police station.

Campbell has spent over 40 years in the entertainment industry and had 27 top ten hits including 'Rhinestone Cowboy', 'Wichita Lineman' and 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix'.
