Jack White of The White Stripes has recorded two new songs for the 'Cold Mountain' soundtrack.
White contributes a total of five songs to the soundtrack including 'Great High Mountain', 'Wayfaring Stranger' and a cover of Howlin' Wolf's 'Sittin' On Top Of The World'.
The original songs are called 'Never Far Away' and 'Christmas Time Will Soon Be Over'.
White also has a small role in the film as a singer and musician.
Based on the book by Charles Frazier, 'Cold Mountain' stars Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger and will open in Ireland on 2 January 2004.
