The Hollywood Reporter says that nearly 2,000 fans turned up to see the singer at yesterday's ceremony.
At 21, Spears ties with 'Little House on the Prairie' actress Melissa Gilbert as the youngest person to receive a star.
Spears' new album, 'In the Zone', is released this week.
