Britney Spears is reported to be close to signing a deal as executive producer for an ABC Family cable TV film.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the project is based on the semi-autobiographical book she wrote with her mother, Lynne Spears.
'A Mother's Gift' is the story of teenage girl who wants to be a singer. She and her mother move from the South to an East Coast conservatory.
The film is scheduled to go into production in Toronto in early 2004.
