First time novelist Monica Ali is favourite to win the Man Booker Prize with 'Brick Lane'.
Bookies have tipped Ali (35) to walk away tonight with the prestigious award for her novel, which is set in the east London Bangladeshi community.
Also nominated are Canadian author Margaret Atwood, who won the Booker in 2000, DBC Pierre, Damon Galgut, Zoe Heller and Clare Morrall.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony at the British Museum tonight.
