A year after his return to TV screens in 'EastEnders', actor Sid Owen has been dropped from the soap.
The show's bosses said that Owen's character, mechanic Ricky Butcher, had limited possibilities.
However, they stressed he would not be killed off and that a return in the future was possible.
There is no date set for Owen's exit at present.
The 31-year-old actor joined the show in 1988 and left in 2000, before returning in 2002.
