Pavarotti is set to become teacher

Tenor Luciano Pavarotti says he will become a teacher of aspiring opera stars when he retires in 2005.

Speaking at the launch of his first ever pop album, 'Ti Adoro', in London, Pavarotti said he would give his services to students free of charge.

He said that teaching was more difficult than singing because you had to transfer a thought from your brain to the brain and throat of another person.

Pavarotti, who was a teacher in the early 60s before his career took off, said he would teach from his home in Italy and New York.
